Chiropractic Care in White Bear Lake MN
Chiropractic care has three phases to it:
- Initial Intensive Care: This type of care is for that obvious ache, pain, or symptom that prompted you to start care. You want to feel better and that is the main objective. Your care will be frequent at first and may include some other therapies. Depending on your age, condition, and lifestyle, repeated office visits over weeks or months may be needed to reduce or eliminate your symptoms.
- Corrective Care: Corrective care stabilizes the spine, musculature, nerves, and other soft tissues after your initial signs and symptoms may have resolved - it helps you with more complete healing. Your Tx frequency is reduced and exercises are usually implemented. Your body's healing occurs better and faster, now that your aches and pains are not present.
- Wellness Care: Wellness care helps maintain and keep your spine and soft tissue functioning at their best. Wellness care helps detect and correct problems before they start or become serious. Wellness care helps save you time and money by helping you stay well.
How long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you!
We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable, and more effective than ever before. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, each one of the doctors has undergone years of training and experience in spinal adjustment, as well as adjustments for the TMJ, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and foot.
Chiropractic manipulation helps return and restore the misaligned vertebrae or joints to their normal position. Your treating doctor will use their hands and small amounts of pressure to move your spine and/or joint to their correct position. There is very little, if any, discomfort from the manipulation/adjustment. It is relaxing and relieves pressure and pain for most people.
Physiotherapy
To complement and enhance the healing effects of each physician's specific chiropractic manipulative treatment, we at Wildwood Chiropractic Center also provide the following physiological therapeutic procedures:
- Ultrasound
- Interferential electrical muscle stimulation
- Microamperage neural stimulation
- Mechanical traction
- Cryotherapy
Corrective Exercises
We teach our patients special blueprint exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problems. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles, and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in healthy.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine. The belief is that energy flows throughout the body and by improving the flow of energy you enhance your health.
Acupuncturists focus on a vital energy called chi. It is believed that chi flows through a complex network of pathways (meridians). Thin needles are inserted into the body at precise locations called acupoints. This can then improve or unblock chi as it flows through the meridians.
The needles used in acupuncture have few risks associated with them. The treatment is usually painless and oftentimes effective when other methods fail. Depending on which acupoint is targeted, the health effect may be different. Acupuncture is used primarily for pain management at Wildwood Chiropractic Center, however, certain other chronic conditions such as arthritis, allergies, and asthma are sometimes treated with acupuncture as well. It has also been used to help people quit smoking.
Acupuncturists must be certified in Minnesota which demands extensive training and a degree. Ask your chiropractor if you have questions regarding this alternative healthcare option.

If you checked any of the above, tell your healthcare provider and ask him or her how custom-made Orthotics can help.
The FAQ below can answer many general questions about Orthotics:
Spinal Pelvic Stabilizer Orthotics are a prescribed style of flexible, custom-made foot orthotics which are worn in shoes. Orthotics are scientifically designed for the individual's unique postural problems, provide custom support for the three arches of your feet, and help improve total body wellness.
You will be asked to step into a foam casting kit, which will capture an exact impression of your feet in their point of functioning (standing). Your doctor will determine which style(s) of Orthotics are appropriate for you and the kit will be sent to a laboratory where the Orthotics will be created to correct any imbalances found in your casting. After the Orthotics arrive at the office, your doctor will show you how to wear them properly and how to take care of them.
No one else's feet are exactly like yours. If your feet are contributing to a postural problem in another part of your body (or if your body is putting stress on your feet), your chiropractor may need to perform corrective foot adjustments. Each pair of custom -made flexible Orthotics is created for the individual supports all three arches of your feet, and is designed specifically to help your doctor's adjustments "hold" better. "Off-the-rack" shoe inserts are mass-produced and cannot provide the specific level of support so you may need to keep your feet in their proper structural positions.
Your chiropractor will select the Orthotics best suited for you based on a variety of factors (lifestyle, health, age, weight, sex, etc.) He or she may recommend a style which includes the patent pending Gait Cycle System for shock absorption, support, and a propulsive "boost" with each step. And because most people wear at least two styles of shoes each day, your chiropractor may determine that a Combo (two pairs) would be best for your condition.
Orthotics help your feet maintain their structural and functional balance as you stand, walk, or run. Your feet are the foundation of your body, and they serve you in three important ways: they support your body whenever you stand, walk, or run; they assist you in moving from one place to another, and they help protect your spine, bones, and soft tissues from damaging shock stress as you move. Any weakness or unstable positioning in your feet can contribute to postural problems in the rest of your body. Orthotics help to keep your feet in a stable position throughout the day.
Pronation is a very common foot problem. Some foot bones drop to a less stable position if the foot arches are too weak to keep them properly aligned. The arches may be unnaturally stretched ("flat feet"), increasing stress. Another common problem is plantar fascitis, a stress irritation to the elastic tissues running nearly the entire length of the foot. Heel spurs - deposits of calcium on the heel bone - are another common problem. If untreated, feet can become "tired and achy" or hurt. You should contact your chiropractor right away if you have foot pain.
Wrong. Even if your feet don't hurt, a weakened foundation may seriously affect the rest of your body. If you are currently having knee, hip, low back or neck pain, your feet may not be supporting joints, bones, or soft tissues above the ankles properly. Ask your chiropractor if your feet could be a contributing factor.
